What makes a strong pitch

A useful pitch names one focused question, explains why it matters to a general reader, and gives a brief account of the argument or approach. Tell us what readers will understand by the end and what reliable public material could support the piece. Comparisons and historical context are welcome when they illuminate a distinct point.

Writing and standards

We look for precise, readable prose, careful distinctions between fact and opinion, and a fair account of uncertainty. Avoid gossip presented as evidence, recycled promotional copy and claims that depend on access you cannot substantiate. Please mention relevant interests or relationships connected to your proposal.
